Anacortes Arts Festival

 The Festival is gearing up for the 50th anniversary celebration August 5, 6 and 7.

The downtown streets will be filled with 250 outstanding juried Booth Artisans, Music on multiple stages, Culinary Art and beer garden featuring ethnic and regional tastes, and a creative Youth Area.

The north end of the Festival features Arts at the Port fine art exhibition showcasing work by artists spanning 50 years of the Festival’s Permanent Collection. Experience Art with demonstrating artists and a new Gorilla/Guerrilla Open Art area round out the north Commercial Festival events.

Relay For Life of Anacortes- This Saturday & Sunday

Relay For Life of Anacortes celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.Relay for Life
 
It is a community gathering where everyone can participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at the high school and take turns walking/running around the track. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event – because cancer never sleeps. Relay For Life is an overnight event, this year lasting a total of 18 hours. Whatever way you get to the market, we’re always glad you came.  This weekend, though, we’re getting out our bikes and hoping you will, too, our 1st ever “.  If a bicycle ride pleases you, we will have a very special parade from Causeland Park to the Farmers Market at 10:30.  Prizes will be given for the “Best Decorated Bike” and “Best Decorated Helmet”.  We’ll stir up a grand ole time at the market this week.
